McDonald has made her mark as the go-to “big gun” in the Shockwave 16-Black operation. She has some experience at the middle blocker spot, but her prowess at the pins has taken precedence with 16-Black. We saw unmatched power and aggression from McDonald, whose length allows her to square up with 16 Open’s juggernauts.

I wonder if the two most famous McDonald’s of all-time, Ol’ McDonald and Ronald McDonald, are in this McDonald’s family tree? The Valley Center Hornet made a huge climb in the 2028 rankings after a sophomore season with 252 digs and 319 kills. Like with St. James Academy’s Lee, McDonald’s total number of digs caught me by surprise. McDonald is now ranked No. 15 overall.

I did not see the Hornets play last fall, so I would like to see McDonald and Shockwave’s 16-1 squad on Saturday! McDonald can really sting a ball. She finished with 319 kills during her sophomore campaign. Her blocking numbers were way down, so I am interested to find out why. She might have played more outside last season for the Hornets. This Shockwave roster has some dangerous pin hitters, so maybe she will play in the middle for them. McDonald is ranked No. 20 overall in the Kansas Class of 2028. Shockwave 16-1 will begin play at 8:50 a.m. in Pool B against Pohaku 16-1.

Valley Center’s McDonald tallied 319 kills in 80 sets played as a sophomore. The Hornet middle is perhaps the best blocker among the athletes in this report. I missed seeing the Hornets play this fall, but I saw McDonald play during her freshman season and during the last club season. She has an older sister playing in college, and she should be one of the most sought-after middle blockers in the 2028 Kansas Class. McDonald is ranked No. 20 overall.

Raegan had a standout week, racking up 78 kills over 14 sets, an impressive 5.57 kills per set, while earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team at El Dorado and leading Valley Center to a strong 2nd place finish. Her hard work and dedication didn’t go unnoticed, as she was named ESPN Wichita Female Athlete of the Week.
