Chloe made a big jump from 55 to 38 in our latest rankings and a lot of that has to do with her growth as a all around setter. Chloe has a lot of great tempo with her sets when she is running the offense and has some of the softest hands out there with how nice the ball is placed when her team is in system. She can run a fast offense and can set all her hitters with great positional sets each play.
One thing that sets her apart and a reason she made a big jump is how well she does with some of the other things we need to see from a setter. First, she can still run a fast offense even when she doesn’t get the best pass in serve receive or defense. Being able to run almost all your hitters even when the pass isn’t perfect says a lot about the level of setter she is. She gets her feet to the ball with quick lateral movement and can use her great hands to get the ball where it is needed whether it’s a perfect pass or an out of system pass. She also can play some good defense and has some great reads as a defender to see plays before they happen.
We have seen a very steep climb by Chloe over these last 6 months as she continues to develop into a top level player. We don’t expect anything less over the coming season and look forward to watching her play this club season.
