I got the chance to watch Theobald in Rochester with her Stewie team this past club season, and she was doing what she does best. She moves well on the court, tracks down nearly everything, and has a great volleyball IQ for such a young player. Running a 6-2 offense last season, she put up 502 assists and 159 digs. She’s the type of setter who does a little bit of everything and will likely be one of the leaders on the court this season.

Clara stood out as one of the smoothest setters on the court throughout the weekend. Her clean hands, ability to change tempo, and sneaky dumps kept defenders off guard. She also showed strong chemistry with her middles, helping her offense stay unpredictable and efficient.

Clara brings athleticism to the setter position that immediately pops. She thrives in motion—running down second balls, turning broken plays into quality swings, and even generating offense with her own attacks. Her quick release, ability to accelerate tempo, and confidence in feeding the middle make her incredibly dangerous.

What separates her is her competitive nature. She controls the match emotionally, communicates with precision, and refuses to let the offense slow down. Clara is the player who can raise the pace of play for an entire team, something college coaches value greatly. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

Freshman setter Clara Theobald Clara Theobald 5'9" | S Stewartville | 2029 State MN has big shoes to fill as she runs the court for 3AAA ranked Stewartville. The tigers made it to state last year and are definitely looking to repeat.  Theobald has done an excellent job stepping in the starting setter role and getting her attackers involved. She has so far racked up 180 assists in this 6-2 offense, average 5/assists per set.
