About Danica

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Quick transitions, rapid attack, spread the placement everywhere on the court, good seal on block

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I love volleyball. I transition fast so that I can be available as an option to the setter as often as possible and sow chaos on the opponent. With off balance opponents I get kills and my deadly pins get 1:1 opportunities. I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to play side by side with incredibly gifted athletes and for the best coaches.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have been a volunteer athlete coach for a 12u team at Wave, and this upcoming season I am again volunteering for a 13u team. I take immense satisfaction in watching them grow in skill and love for the game.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I overcame an unfortunate year of injuries in my sophomore year: bad ankle sprain, concussion and colds. It seemed at time that it was a never ending string of hurdles and physical therapies, but I pushed through and have come into my junior year with a lot of pent up energy to unleash on the court. Feels so good to be back!
