About Deanica

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

5’6 with vertical and ability to sore. Great ability to read the court.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Positive and super resilient person who’s overcome many obstacles and use my experiences to help others.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Girl Scout since the age of five. I’m part of two school clubs, Latinas unidas and girls Athletic association. I also have a leadership role at school as a school ambassador.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed many skills like determination, leadership, teamwork, communication and community service. I’m actively give back to my local community by engaging in various service activities. Hope to inspire others by contributing positively.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I had a 50 percent chance of living and I made it. Also suffered a severe concussion which was one of the toughest I mental and physical obstacles I overcame. These experiences have helped me be some stronger and take what I learned to help others. After my concussion I was able to support two other athletes who suffered concussions. I always try to stay positive and learn from my experience.

What type of college are you looking for?

A college with diverse campus that’s welcoming. Plus a college that supports learners with learning differences.

De Lira is currently concentrating on strengthening her defensive skills through focused training designed to improve speed and footwork while expanding her role as a complete player. Her goals center on learning the demands of a more competitive club environment while refining her hitting technique and generating more offensive production. Off the court, De Lira’s resilience defines her story. Nicknamed “Little Superhero” by her family, she has overcome medical challenges and setbacks while maintaining a determined and positive outlook.
