Deja Carroll, a six-rotation outside hitter for Roots, is equipped to be a threat from every position on the court. She brings both size and a powerful, confident swing at the net, making her a go-to offensive option in the front row. In serve receive, there’s no hesitation—Carroll is composed, decisive, and always ready to play the ball, giving her team stability in first contact. Her ability to stay engaged in every phase of the game, from passing to attacking to defense, makes her a true all-around presence who consistently impacts the flow of the match.

Please welcome Miss Carroll to the prestigious State Rankings.  She is currently ranked as the 59^th best overall prospect in the 2028 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.  She plays for Weiss High School in Abilene and also for the Roots volleyball club.  I love how she is able to run multiple routes on both the pins and out of the middle during second tempo sets.  With her long reach and great vertical, she is a force to be reckoned with at the net.  As a blocker, she holds her hands super high and has a strong upper body to battle with anyone.  As an attacker, she is able to get on top of the ball and hit with power as she slices it around the block.  Strong is an understatement when describing her frame.  The defense better be in a great position early to set up on her attacks, because she can really thunder away at the ball and it is difficult to stop.  Scoring with tools off of the block or shanks off of back row defenders, she has a very efficient offensive arsenal.  Please help us congratulate her on earning a spot in our State Rankings.
