Deja Carroll Deja Carroll 5'11" | RS Weiss | 2028 State TX is 5’11” at the left and right side position with a long reach, a great vertical, and a swing that our publication has described as powerful and confident. That combination at the net is already compelling on its own. What makes the profile more interesting is the blocking. She holds her hands high at the press/point of contact and brings the upper body strength to legitimately compete with attackers one on one rather than just occupying space and hoping for a tool. I also love how she turns her outside hand toward zone six to redirect the ball back into the court. She helped Weiss reach the UIL 5A Division II State Championships last fall and produced well enough to help her team earn that stage against some of the best competition in the classification. Ranked 59th overall in the 2028 class by Prep Dig, the physical tools and competitive track record are both pointing in the same direction and the programs that identify her early will be glad they did. This young lady is a tough out for anyone to go up against and she is able to play six rotations from either side. Please help us congratulate her on earning this well deserved recognition.

Deja Carroll, a six-rotation outside hitter for Roots, is equipped to be a threat from every position on the court. She brings both size and a powerful, confident swing at the net, making her a go-to offensive option in the front row. In serve receive, there’s no hesitation—Carroll is composed, decisive, and always ready to play the ball, giving her team stability in first contact. Her ability to stay engaged in every phase of the game, from passing to attacking to defense, makes her a true all-around presence who consistently impacts the flow of the match.

Please welcome Miss Carroll to the prestigious State Rankings.  She is currently ranked as the 59^th best overall prospect in the 2028 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.  She plays for Weiss High School in Abilene and also for the Roots volleyball club.  I love how she is able to run multiple routes on both the pins and out of the middle during second tempo sets.  With her long reach and great vertical, she is a force to be reckoned with at the net.  As a blocker, she holds her hands super high and has a strong upper body to battle with anyone.  As an attacker, she is able to get on top of the ball and hit with power as she slices it around the block.  Strong is an understatement when describing her frame.  The defense better be in a great position early to set up on her attacks, because she can really thunder away at the ball and it is difficult to stop.  Scoring with tools off of the block or shanks off of back row defenders, she has a very efficient offensive arsenal.  Please help us congratulate her on earning a spot in our State Rankings.
