Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I am a smart and scrappy player. I take charge of my team's serve-receive by calling out seams and predicting the type of serve. My court awareness allows me to serve weaker players and holes in the court. I chase after every ball and actively communicate with my teammates. I am vocal on the court and cheer for every point we earn. I have created many of our sideline cheers to keep the team hyped!
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I am a very excited, loud, and funny person. When I am with friends, I bond and make every moment count. On the court, I play aggressively and go after every ball. When I make mistakes, I can get stuck in my head, but I focus on learning from them and bouncing back. I would call myself dedicated. Not only to volleyball but to school, student council, the community, and my friends.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am involved in the Student Council, Hope Means Nevada, and Girl Scouts. I have received academic awards, including the Overall Student Award, Straight A's, and Student of the Month. Additionally, I earned my Bronze and Silver Awards in Girl Scouts and am working towards my Gold Award this summer. I also received the President's Volunteer Service Award for my service hours throughout the valley.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I’ve developed strong teamwork and leadership skills through volleyball and student council. In volleyball, I always bring energy and uplift my teammates whenever they get down on themselves. I celebrate every point we earn, no matter the circumstance. I was the freshman class president and am currently the sophomore class president, aiming to be junior class president next year.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
In 2021, I underwent knee surgery, which prevented me from playing volleyball for over a year. Once I was cleared after completing physical therapy, I joined an NYS elite team and the club Kiakahi. To continue improving my strength and preventing injuries, I started personal training outside of practice, which I have been doing for two years. I am now playing my third year of club volleyball.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a college that offers the major I want to pursue and has a great student section and school spirit. I would prefer a college in the South or along the East Coast, near where I was born (South Carolina).
