About Emery

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I love positive energy on the court. I play to win and if there is not positive energy, it makes it hard to be successful. That is when I step up and bring the positive energy to my play and to my teammates. If I make a mistake, I don't beat myself up about it. If a teammate makes a mistake, I help them shake it off. I work very hard, on and off the court. I have high expectations for myself.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I received an art award and my art was featured in the showcase this past year.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I was selected as team captain this past year and it was my job to keep the energy on the court. I make it a point to be vocal on the court and encourage my teammates to communicate on the court. I found my voice and help my teammates with rotation and positioning. I learned how people have different communication styles and my team and my patience improved as we worked together.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a community where I can thrive academically, socially, and athletically. I want a school with a positive team culture. I am looking forward to developing relationships with my teammates and want to live on campus. I am open to large schools as well as smaller schools. If I go to a larger school, I want a place where I can still feel a sense of smaller community.
