About Emily

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a well rounded player with a main focus on hitting. I am aggressive when possible and turn to shot making when necessary to get the job done. I am a float server with a focus on consistency and placement rather than speed and power.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

On the court I bring a competitive attitude, while also trying to keep it fun and exciting. I enjoy playing the game and like to remind myself and my teammates to have fun and enjoy the sport and be competitive while doing so.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

While volleyball is a big focus in my life, I strive to do well in my academics and schooling. Over my past three years as a Middle Schooler, I was in the National Junior Honors Society and supported under performing students through a Peer Leaders program.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Over the past 6 seasons of playing Volleyball competitively, I have lead by example through sportsmanship, dedication, and hard work. In addition to volleyball, I have been on many other athletic teams, all of which has taught me about the importance of teamwork.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a Division 1 School with a solid Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy program.

I realize I’m listing two different Penn kids in the same article, but hear me out. With Riley, you get high and hard and a passion for volleyball. With Emily, it’s a jumping ability that’s second to none in this class. She’s a right side during the fall, but is capable of attacking from either pin. Her whip of an arm hitting all angles and terminating at will was her calling card this fall, with views of the next level already in sight.
