is our #1 Right Side Hitter in the class of 2026. 6 ‘3 ” of problems for opposing hitters. For reference, Harper Murray from Nebraska, is only 6’2″. Emma’s ability to hit a good hard cross attacks from the right side makes her enemy #1 for setters. She is much more than just a right side, she does a great job when she is set out of serve receive, to the outside. She was a huge addition this season to the already star studded Bishop McGuinness program in OKC.

For the most part girls grow at a slower pace once they reach high school. Emma continued to sprout rising three inches to 6’3 from her frosh to her sophomore season. For Woodson high school she mainly hits left side. For Metro I have seen her mostly play right side. She also works hard on improving her six rotation play, spending a lot of time on her serve receive and defensive play. Her arm swing has also gotten much faster from her frosh to sophomore season. As she matures she will also get physically stronger.

Emma plays left side for Woodson. For the most part she plays six rotations. She works hard on her back row play but at 6’3″ getting to those short serves is always a challenge. Just from her high school season last year to the club season she has made some big improvements in her offensive game. Her arm swing appears faster creating a lot more velocity on the ball. For Metro she primarily plays the right side but she slides to the left to rest

For Woodson High School she plays left side and at times is left in to play all six rotations. She also plays some left side for Metro when giving Caydence or Morgan a breather. For the most part she plays right side for Metro. Like Morgan, her back row play could be more consistent, but that will only come with repetition. She won first team honors in the Patriot District and first team honors for the region. She finished with a hitting percentage of .304 but watching her play she has shown big improvement since her sophomore season in high school. Her arm swing appears much faster and she hits the ball with greater velocity. Her approach jump falls just short of 10 feet at 9’11”.

Emma Gardner‘s play keeps on growing as does her height. She made her high school team as a frosh when she stood 6’0″. Now, after her sophomore season she lists at 6’3″. Her arm swing has improved since her frosh season resulting in greater velocity on her spikes. One of the issues I had with her during her frosh season was a slow arm swing that prevented creating velocity on her spikes. With time and repetition that has changed. She swings fast and hard. At Woodson High she plays left side and is used as a six rotation player. For Metro she plays right side but has been used at left side with the opportunity to play six rotations. While she ranks 9th in our class of 2026 rankings her play has really improved since that ranking so there could be some movement there.
