Thein is an incredibly talented attack that is still available for recruitment. She is a 6 rotation pin hitter that is going to do big things at the next level. She is reliable in the back court and scrappy on defense. Thein is event more so smart with her shot selection and powerful in her swing.

I wrote about Thein in my article previewing the Minnesota Expo, but let me just say being able to actually watch her compete in person impressed me even more than her stat sheet! One thing about Thein is that she brings all the energy and gives it her all out on the court. She can hammer the ball from either pin and is so consistent. This girl is the queen of communication and is bound to set herself, along with her teammates, up for success.

Emma Thein Emma Thein 6'0" | RS/OH MACCRAY | 2026 State MN is just an all around impressive volleyball player. She will always find a way to put the ball down when her team needs her most. Thein’s ability to see the court is one like no other, and her consistency in the back row is just as impressive as her ability to pound the ball! Her passion and leadership led Maccray to an overall 21-11 record this past season. Overall just a stand out 6 rotation player who you should most definitely keep on your radar!

You do not want to let up your guard when Thein is on the court. She will sneak into the middle and smoke the 1 corner. Thein takes a really nice cross body roll shot down the line from the left pin when you least expect it. She can also play defense anywhere on the court and I really love her right back defense. Thein could be a dangerous weapon as a 6 rotation right side for a team running a 5-1.

I was really excited to see Thein in action at the Class A/AA Showcase this past fall. She has a lot of length and does a great job of getting off the ground quick and having her arms up and ready. Thein will be a staple for Maccray .

Thein commanded attention when she absolutely unloaded on a ball and her court went bonkers for her. (FYI-I love those moments.) This is a player you do not want to send an overpass to because she will tear the leather off the ball. Thein also sets up and puts up a really solid block.
