Expert Analysis
Jeremy Deckard | Prep Dig Scout
Emmie is the Dean of the Saints. Her game screams leader, both emotionally and verbally. She is extremely unselfish and willing to play whatever role her club and prep teams need her to fill. She is currently ranked No. 10 overall by Prep Dig Kansas. She finished her sophomore season with a career-high 235 kills. She has also strung together two straight seasons with 300-plus digs for the Tigers.

Not to be outdone, Harriet’s younger sister Emmie also tagged me on X. She was recently featured for qualifying for the 200/200 Club by recording at least 200 digs and 200 kills during her last prep season. Like her sister, her highlight was perfect for social media; quick and to the point. She made a great first pass, which led to an easy set and kill. The other thing I have always noticed about her posts on X is that she always shows appreciation and love for her teammates. I wrote about the trio of Foster, Walter, and Schmidtlein during Hayden’s prep season. The magic formula for the Topeka Saints may very well be Dean to Walter to Miller. At least it was in her most recent highlight. Dean is ranked No. 10 overall in the Kansas Class of 2028.

This Jeff West prospect is the Dean of Offense and Defense. She tallied 397 digs and 235 kills in her sophomore season with the Tigers. That combination is almost as tasty as vanilla ice cream and apple pie. Dean is ranked No. 10 overall by Prep Dig Kansas.

Dean is ranked No. 8 overall in the Kansas Class of 2028. There is not much she can’t do on a volleyball court. She finished among the leaders in digs with 397 in 85 sets played for the Tigers. She also recorded 232 kills for Jeff West as a sophomore.

Ranked No. 8 overall is Jefferson West’s Dean. She epitomizes the type of athlete I described earlier as an excellent self-promoter. She does not have an ounce of shyness in her personality. She makes frequent updates on social media not just about he game, but her teammates, opponents, and the successes of other teams and athletes in Kansas. It also helps that she plays with all gas and no brakes. Her sophomore stat line to date includes 318 digs, 428 serve receptions, 188 kills, and 23 blocks. She plays for a competitive club team and makes the rounds on the college camp and combine circuit.

Dean is ranked No. 10 in the Class of 2028 and probably will always find a way to get on an All-Deck team. She is another multi-sport prospect, but in my opinion, volleyball is where her future lies. She eats and breathes volleyball. She has been to multiple camps and clinics this summer and will be at the Washburn Elite Camp this Friday. She can hit. play defense, and could set if her older sister wasn’t already the starter for the Tigers. She promotes herself well on social media and has a super bright future in front of her.

Dean is a versatile athlete whose role on her club team is quite different than her role for the Jeff West Tigers. She is relied on to be more of an attacker for her high school squad, whereas for the Saints, she is more of a back-row leader. She finished with four digs and four serve receptions. Her versatility, jumping ability, and leadership skills are what will separate her from some of the Kansas Class of 2028 pack.

One of the club events I plan on attending is the 15s Power Lague play in Kansas City on March 8. Dean plays for the Topeka Saints 15U club, a team that I saw practice and play last club season but have not seen this year. Dean is a spark plug athlete who plays 100 percent every time she walks onto a court.
