Dean recently tagged me on X with a post of some of her recent club action. I have lost track of the number of times I have written about her game. She is just a talented setter and a gifted athlete. So here is the key thing with her sharing her video. She only posted two clips, but anyone who watches those two clips will want to log on to HUDL and look for more highlights. Also, she knows I watch little 18U or 17U club volleyball, so she is keeping in the loop on what’s going on in her world. That shows a dedication and understanding of the recruitment process and how Prep Dig scouts can assist athletes. Dean is ranked No. 22 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027.

Dean has registered back-to-back seasons with 400-plus assists for the Jeff West Tigers. During her senior season, she finished with 473 assists in 87 sets played. She is a gifted multi-sport talent and one of the top uncommitted setters in Kansas. She will be super determined to end her prep season with a bang. Jeff West just missed qualifying for the Class 3A State Tournament. Dean would love to play in a state tournament with her younger sister. She is ranked No. 16 overall by Prep Dig Kansas.

Dean is one of the most intriguing prospects in the state. She is a multiple-sport talent who could get offers to play multiple college sports. She also has a younger sister whom she loves competing with and against. If I were coaching college right now in Kansas, I would be looking to land the two of them down the road. Dean can set, she can hit, and she could play as a defensive specialist depending on a program’s needs. She is also an accomplished softball pitcher. I could easily see her starting at a JUCO so she could play both sports and then transfer to a DI school after two seasons. Yet, I predict a couple of in-state Division II programs will try to obtain her services. Dean is ranked No. 16 overall by Prep Dig Kansas.

That’s right, another event in Dallas, and another Dean will be featured on the court. Harriet’s younger sister Emmie, took third last week with the Topeka Saints 15U team at Nationals. Harriet has been busy all summer long and looks to bring back gold from Dallas to top her sister! Dean is ranked No. 20 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027.

Dean is having a busy summer. I saw be play last weekend at Seaman. She participated in the Pitt State Elite Camp this week and will be playing at Washburn on Saturday. She is a talented setter who has a ton of hitting options to distribute the ball to. Jeff West will play in Pool A and begin its tournament against Rock Creek at 10:30 on Court 1. Dean is ranked No. 20 overall by Prep Dig Kansas in the Class of 2027.
