Jeremy Deckard | Prep Dig Scout
McCune’s rise up the rankings is more about her natural height, potential, and taking the time to get noticed. She had an injury-shortened freshman season, but is tall, physical, and has taken the steps necessary to get noticed by Prep Dig scouts. She recently completed her Prep Dig profile and reached out to scouts, explaining her season and singing the praises of the older teammates on her squad who have benefited from exposure on Prep Dig. A solid combination of selfishness, unselfishness, humility, confidence, and humbleness can still go a long way.

McCune is ranked No. 74 overall by Prep Dig Kansas. She sent me a nice email in November. In a pleasant, delightful, and not-so-subtle email, she wanted to make sure I had not forgotten about her after an injury-shortened season. I loved it! If you don’t put your name out there and put some skin in the game, you can’t expect to get rewarded for nothing. She gave a ton of credit to her Prep Dig-ranked teammates for her continued improvement and shared her club schedule. She also updated me on college programs that have shown interest in her skills, which helps me through the rankings process down the line. She will be playing for the Topeka Fury 16-1 squad this season.

McCune was extremely effective in front of the setter, running a quick tempo and firing balls with fast arm action. She showed solid lateral quickness on the block and has high potential at the position.

An athlete registered for the Prep Dig Showcase in July I look forward to seeing is Jeff West’s McCune. She is ranked No. 59 overall in the Kansas Class of 2028. She did not play varsity last season for the Tigers as a freshman and that team is stacked once again. She played club ball with the Topeka Fury, a team that I missed last club season. She should benefit by working out in front of Prep Dig scouts and getting to work with coaches from the Dynasty program.
