Expert Analysis
Jesse Etter | Prep Dig Scout
The 6’3″ Holstrum is playing on the outside for Olympia, and her leverage and power as an attacker cause big problems for opposing blockers and defenders. The Seattle Pacific commit is a tremendous blocker herself and teams take their chances testing her big press at the net.

From Isabelle: “Grace can play on either pin and has great length and power. Her arm swing is extremely heavy, and she can sense when we need a big kill. Grace has a strong, flat serve and a devastating block that frustrates hitters. She creates a lot of easy swings that we turn into good transition opportunities. She is going to be great at Seattle Pacific!”

Holstrom is playing on the outside as well as the right, and she played with energy and focus at the Showcase. The 2025 pin attacker from Dakine had success tooling swings off high hands, and finding the gap in the block to pound down kills. Holstrom always delivers as a blocker; at 6’3″ with strong hands, she is a presence at all times defensively.

A towering presence at the net, Holstrum has and continues to be a problem for opposing attackers. PSVBA is moving the Olympia junior around to create favorable matchups for her offensively, and allowing her to put up that huge block against teams best offensive players. Holstrum was working hard to get off the net in transition at the PSR Power League- PSVBA needs her to be an terminal option to maximize their scoring potential.

The outside for the Olympia Bears has excellent size, and many of her best performances occurred late in the season. She is still a developing prospect and is already able to hit over and off a block. Teams tried to target her in serve receive, and she held up well. Holstrum already sees the game well, she should continue to become more fluid through the club season.
