There will be positional breakdowns over the next week, but we start with part 1 of players outside the top 10 of their position that need special mention. We can’t wait to see how the 2025 rankings change and what players move up over the next two years.
The outside for the Olympia Bears has excellent size, and many of her best performances occurred late in the season. She is still a developing prospect and is already able to hit over and off a block. Teams tried to target her in serve receive, and she held up well. Holstrum already sees the game well, she should continue to become more fluid through the club season.
Whitlock was on a tear for the last twelve matches of the season for Burlington-Edison, posting double-doubles in eleven of the twelve contests! She racked up a season-high 27 digs versus Archbishop Murphy and 19 kills against Columbia River and cemented her spot as a mainstay six rotation outside hitter.

Joswick is outstanding in serve receive, she has a good platform and can angle the ball to give her setter a pass to handle. Central Valley relied on Joswick to control the back row this season, and the sophomore stepped up with an All-GSL Honorable Mention season. Quick to the ball, another solid club season with RVC should cement her place as one of the top liberos on the Eastside of the state for 2025.

Athletic and smart on the court, Sum helped Lynwood to an excellent 13-5 season this fall. She should be the defensive anchor for an up-and-coming Royals team that returns ten players for next year. Sum has a good volleyball IQ and is tough from the service line.
The sophomore from Kentwood High School has good size and is able to hustle and reach passes that might be off target. She is more than willing to get on the ground to dig out a cover or tip on defense, and she serves with a flat jump float. Kentwood has sophomore outside Aly Skagen who will pair with Akolzin for the next two seasons, a great starting point for the Conquerors.

It’s easy to see Taitano moving up the rankings as she continues as the starting setter for Bellarmine Prep. Running a 5-1 offense in the competitive 4A conference, she put up big numbers all around, including 625 assists and 178 digs. Her defense on tips and ability to read opposing hitters stands out, and she has enough size to make a play offensively at the net.
Wyatt stepped in and helped Olympia reach the state tournament, serving as the second setter and freeing up 2024 setter/attacker Hannah Byers Hannah Byers 6’2″ | OH Olympia | 2024 State #151 Nation WA for an increased workload at the pin. She has a deceptive short serve that gave opponents serious trouble all year long, the serve will catch the tape and trickle over, frustrating the receiving team.
The La Center junior was versatile enough to take swings from the right side and drop back in serve receive at times this season. Still, at her best, she is pounding kills from her middle blocker spot. She has great vision, seeing the opposing block and turning the ball to either corner.

Frye can attack from the middle or the pin, she has excellent versatility as a hitter. Her 6’2 length causes problems for opposing offenses, she has excellent training and footwork, and closes quickly when she reads the setter. Frye is poised for a breakout club season and should emerge as an offensive force throughout the year.
Turner is a strong blocker, and very comfortable attacking from the right side. She has a heavy arm and will be an important part of the Lake Stevens roster as the Vikings rebuild portions of the offense after graduating multiple attackers.
