Gretchen is a dominant force out of the middle. Her efficiency is truly impressive; she hit 0.307 during her freshman season at Dominican. Gretchen does her job on the court and elevates the game of those around her. Not only was her high school season excellent, but she also impressed at our Exposure Tour. When I saw her play during the Exposure Tour, she demonstrated great ball control and disciplined movement, making her even more dangerous against her opponents.

Gretchen was one of the first middles to really stand out. She already shows impressive footwork for a freshman, moving quickly to close blocks and transition into her attack. Add in a heavy arm swing and the ability to put up a solid block, and she’s a tough matchup at the net. There’s no doubt we’ll be seeing her name in the rankings soon.

Gretchen was nothing short of incredible at the Showcase. Middles had an incredibly hard job, forging connections with setters quickly, blocking pin to pin in every drill with minimal breaks, and transitioning on every play. Gretchen not only showed her endurance and competitiveness throughout the event, but she also had great court awareness and a high volleyball IQ. She never took a play off and was shutting down opposing hitters with her block and getting excellent defensive touches. She was also a power hitter on offense.
