Austin Kingsley | Prep Dig Scout
Pin hitters were busy during Johnson County Central’s five-set quarterfinal thriller against Yutan. Lubben was terminal throughout this instant classic, producing 18 kills on 54 swings. The veteran also showed us why she was a six-rotation anchor throughout the Thunderbirds’ perfect regular-season run. Her instincts as a primary passer helped keep JCC in system and operate one of Nebraska’s most efficient offenses. This senior did it all.

How about another middle blocker from outside the big cities? Lubben built on her outstanding sophomore season with another year of hitting over 0.300 for Johnson County Central. After harping on the successes of Johnson County Central a few times this year, it’s only fair that we give Lubben her due credit. She is having a dominant sophomore campaign that is highlighted by three kills per set on a scorching 0.376 hitting efficiency. The Thunderbirds know how to spread the ball around, and that offense gets even more lethal with Lubben reaching greater heights in 2023.
