About Harper

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'd describe my gameplay style as energetic and lively. Even if I'm having an off day, I always make sure to cheer on my teammates. Just like every other athlete, I have my faults and shortcomings. Although I have accepted that I am not perfect, I do not let my faults define me. I do my best to bring positive energy and a sense of trust to the court in both practices, and games.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I believe that I have a very friendly and welcoming personality. I try to begin each interaction with a positive attitude. I think my mentality is one of the most important parts of my game. Volleyball is a very mental sport. I do my best to have a mindset that will allow me to grow as both a person and a player.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I was what we called a "core singer" in my elementary/middle school's choir. I completed my final year as a Christ the King bear in May of 2025. Being a core singer gave me a chance to take on a small leadership role within the choir. I also helped to found my former school's Student Worker's Assisting Teachers club (the SWAT team0.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed a natural sense of leadership. I'm an only child, but I had many friends on my street that I grew up with-including two girls who are both a couple of years younger than me. We would all walk back and forth from each other's houses. Anytime we were doing something like this I would do everything in my power to make sure that they remained safe while walking from house to house.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

In eighth grade I had a friend who was struggling with her mental health. She believed that everything that had been happening to her at the time was my fault. This created some serious issues in school and outside of school. I had almost been abandoned by all of my friends before they realized what was happening. This event in my life wasn't enjoyable but has made me a stronger person now.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college with a competitive volleyball program where I can accomplish my goals of playing professional volleyball. I also want a college that creates an environment that allows the team to bond as if family. I believe those are fundamental qualities in any athletics program, no matter what level. I also am seeking a high-quality education as well as a strong athletics program.
