Every time I watch Catherine Anderson Catherine Anderson 5'10" | S/RS Mount St. Mary's | 2028 State AR play, it looks like she’s having the time of her life. But behind all that joy is a fierce competitor who knows how to win.

Anderson helps guide a Mount St. Mary attack featuring two of the state’s top hitters in Taylor Wherry Taylor Wherry 5'11" | OH/DS/L Mount St. Mary's | 2028 State AR and Finley Rice Finley Rice 5'10" | OH Mount St. Mary's | 2030 State AR . But the Belles are much more than a couple of big hitters. They are the definition of a complete team. On any given night, it can be a different player stepping up to lead them to victory.

Anderson is one of those leaders. She can fill just about any role on the court, but really excels at setting and can bring the heat from the pins when called upon. She’s a big part of what makes this Belles team so dangerous.

Every team needs a player like Catherine. On a star studded, National Champion team that runs a nine-player roster, you need a Swiss army knife player. Anderson is just that, she can step in at every position if needed.

A setter by trade, Catherine is also an established offensive weapon from the right-side. Anderson led the Mount St Mary’s Belles to a 5A undefeated conference season. In club, against top competition, she shined on the court at any position she was asked to play. Setter, pin-hitter, middle, defensive specialist, or libero…Anderson can fill the role. And not just fill the space, she’s productive. She is a special player on a special team. You don’t win a National Championship, especially in a division as tough as the Liberty division, without a player like Catherine.

With roster limits and new eligibility rules in college, the value of players that are versatile is rising. As always, expect Catherine to meet the challenge and rise to the occasion.
