Elkhorn North couldn’t have asked for a smoother setter transition when Booth took the reins last fall…from her older sister. Indeed, the Booth name has been a permanent fixture throughout Elkhorn North’s short history. Hayden has carved her own path as a dynamic leader who can set anyone from anywhere, and it’s leading to some eye-popping numbers on the stat sheet. A colossal 10.3 assist-per-set clip has put Booth and the Wolves squarely in Class B title contention for another year. The field is stacked, but that won’t deter one of Nebraska’s premier senior setters.

We’re starting with the champs. Booth has already established herself as one of Nebraska’s top setters, particularly after last year’s chart-topping campaign with Elkhorn North. However, this Bradley University commit elevated her game further en route to the Wolves’ title-winning triumph at last weekend’s invite. Booth’s deceptiveness, athleticism, and precision yielded numerous one-on-one opportunities for her hitters, and Elkhorn North has the firepower needed to capitalize. This might not be Elkhorn North’s only tournament title in 2025.

Booth reminded us why she was one of the state’s most statistically productive setters with Elkhorn North last fall. The 2026 athlete dished the ball with impressive pace and consistency, allowing Premier Nebraska 17 Gold’s attackers to thrive. Booth is particularly adept at the ‘go’ set to give her left-side hitters a big seam to swing through. The qualifier season will be another important test of Booth’s overall command of the offense.

Booth was right in the race to be Nebraska’s overall “assist champion” in 2024. She amassed over 1,100 helpers in her first year as Elkhorn North’s sole leader at setter. This massive total was good enough for 10.5 assists per set, and Booth piled up her stats in various ways. Her quick feet and smooth hands allowed Booth to force middle sets on less-than-ideal passes. She could also deliver ‘go’ sets to the outside with perfect tempo and location. These skills will remain a storyline when Booth competes with Premier Nebraska 17 Gold this spring.

We have to give one more nod to Booth and her extraordinary output in the 2024 campaign. She took over the setter spot after her older sister’s departure to Northern Iowa. Booth kept the Wolves rolling while putting up one of the state’s best assist-per-set averages. Her tournament numbers put Booth’s 2024 total over 1,000, and she has another year to top that mark.

Elkhorn North has seamlessly transitioned from one Booth to another at the setter spot. Hayden takes over for older sister Reese, now a starter at Northern Iowa. Booth has been anchored to the top of Nebraska’s overall assists leaderboard with a whopping 11 per set. The junior setter’s balanced offense and precise distribution are only part of her appeal in the Wolves’ lineup. Look for Booth to take over the right-back area as a lockdown defender as Elkhorn North pursues a Class B breakthrough.

A Booth is still running the show at Elkhorn North. Hayden has assumed the starting setter role after older sister Reese’s departure to Northern Iowa. Booth’s junior season began with an astonishing 44 assists in just three sets against Elkhorn. This scorching clip has immediately put the Class B standout atop Nebraska’s assists leaderboards, and Booth will likely stay there for a while.

2024 is shaping up to be a transformative year for Booth. The Elkhorn North standout’s precision and finesse were apparent as Premier Nebraska 16 Gold clinched a runner-up finish at April’s Show Me Qualifier. This wasn’t the end of the journey, of course, and 16 Gold made a deep run through the 16 Open field in Las Vegas. Booth combines her natural setting skills with unmatched defensive prowess in Zone 1. She now looks to be the heir apparent to her older sister at Elkhorn North, a program rocketing to prominence in Class B. Full speed ahead.
