Gessner has turned into a vocal leader for the Bluebirds. Gessner has seen varsity play since her eighth grade season and it shows as she continuously finds ways to better balls. Gessner does not get fooled easily on setter dumps. The team celebrated her 1000th career dig earlier in the week. Gessner has 401 digs and 31 aces on the season.

Gessner continues to improve at the libero position during club season. Gessner gives everything she has to dig up balls. That includes using one hand when necessary. Off the court, Gessner has a wonderful personality making her a great communicator. Gessner also continues to make strides at positioning herself to dig up blocked balls and tips and her jump serve is continuing to get better. Gessner is primed to better her team-high 474 digs and second-best 41 aces that helped Highlands finish 20-16 and earn a seventh straight 36th District championship this past fall.

Gessner played the Libero role all season for the Bluebirds in her third season on varsity and looks to have a similar defensive specialist role during the club season. Balls hit near her do not land easily as she does a great job hustling to the best of her ability. Constantly moves around the court trying to be in position for blocks and tips. Gessner has nice timing on her jump serves. Gessner led Highlands with 474 digs and finished second with 41 aces helping Highlands finish 20-16 and earn a seventh straight 36th District championship.
