Henley Frank looked comfortable as a defender from the start. She held a solid defensive stance, transitioned smoothly in the back row, and read the play well before she received the ball. The level of control she had was particularly impressive. She wasn’t just making contact; she was trying to create playable balls and give her team an opportunity to transition. One of the newest names to know in Arkansas is Henley Frank Henley Frank 5'4" | DS/L Bentonville West | 2030 AR , who recently moved from Louisville, Kentucky. Frank has been competing at the varsity level since the seventh grade and now brings that experience to Arkansas volleyball. I had the opportunity to watch film on Frank and also checked out to fellow Prep Dig evaluator Mike Graham for his assessment.

“Frank brings a strong presence to the court for 15 Black,” Graham said. “She consistently makes clean first contacts and works hard after every ball while staying under control. At the net, she provides solid blocking and is constantly encouraging her teammates.”

Graham also pointed to her serving as a major strength. “She has outstanding command of her serve. She’ll vary her locations until she identifies a weakness, then she’ll continue attacking that spot to keep opponents out of system.”

Frank brings a mature, steady game to the floor. Her first-ball contact is clean, she competes with discipline, and she understands how to apply pressure from the service line. Add in her leadership and varsity experience, and she should quickly become a player to watch as she begins her Arkansas career.

Frank brings a strong presence to the court for 15 Black. Frank makes smooth first touches and does hard after balls, yet under control. Frank also provides strong net protection and is always encouraging her teammates. Frank has great control of her serves. She mixes serving locations unless she finds a weakness on the other side. Frank then attacks that weakness relentlessly trying to keep opponents out of rhythm.

Frank is benefitting from extra repetitions. Frank squares her body up to balls to make smooth first touches and help the 15 Black team jumpstart the offense. Frank takes nice swings and has a tough jump serve. Her dedication to the game will pay off in other ways throughout her career.

Frank is displaying some nice ball control skills on serve reception and digging. She only dives for balls when necessary trying to send them in between the imaginary lines in the front row for two to three-point passes. Then on offense, Frank takes sound swings from the outside landing big kills. Frank is one of many players that have contributed to the 46-8 record and seven tournament wins for 13 Blue.
