Pumphrey (pictured) has developed an aggressive mindset in the front row and uses it to control the net both offensively and defensively. Pumphrey takes great hitting angles using her size and creates the necessary spacing from the net to send across off shots. She goes up hard on double and solo blocks making hitters go over and around her, thus slowing things down for the defensive specialists. Pumphrey agreed she’s trying to be more consistent on the softer shots. She added she’s been working on the little things that make a difference in games.
