VanGuilder had an outstanding tournament all the way around. She has a great vertical jump, using it to hit over blocks and even tip over them. VanGuilder makes great in-air adjustments to catch defenders off-guard. VanGuilder even takes big swings from the back row. Described as outgoing, driven and gritty by teammates and close ones, VanGuilder uses her off (left) hand to surprise opponents on soft swings. VanGuilder is also a sound passer. VanGuilder said she’s been working on improving her passing during club season and understanding her teammates has motivated her to become a better player.

VanGuilder tore things up last club season and carried over a lot of those habits into high school ball in the fall. VanGuilder has a great wrist snap to put a lot of power into balls. VanGuilder deposits balls all over the court. She has continued to find ways to better balls so far during club season.
