Isabella is 5’1″ and she played bigger than that number suggests throughout the entire SoCal Showcase. Her floor coverage was the first thing I noticed and the range she generates through anticipation and first-step quickness makes the court feel smaller for the hitters on the other side of the net. She reads the game early, which means she is almost never scrambling. The ball finds her rather than the other way around, and that quality is the clearest indicator of a libero whose instincts are already ahead of her age. You could see that her communication with teammates throughout the day was constant and genuine and the players around her responded to it every time. I love when I see a smaller libero not be afraid to go up against bigger hitters and she was exactly that in every scrimmage drill.  We will be watching her moving forward and you should also.

Isabella Abdulnour Isabella Abdulnour 5'0" | DS/L CA stood out with her high-level reads, especially when it came to picking up setter dumps and covering tips. She showed strong defensive instincts and was consistently in the right place at the right time.

Her athleticism in the back row allowed her to cover a ton of ground, and she played with a relentless mindset—willing to do whatever it took to make the play. She was vocal, confident, and brought a commanding presence that gave her teammates trust and stability on every rally.

Her ability to organize the back row and maintain energy through extended rallies reflects an understanding of her role as a libero. There is a clear emphasis on effort, positioning, and keeping the ball in play, along with a willingness to stay engaged in every phase of defense.

Her response reflects a player who values composure, communication, and team stability. There is a strong commitment to development, particularly as a newer club player, along with a willingness to accept feedback and apply it immediately.

She has been working on expanding her defensive range, improving her first-step quickness, and refining her ability to read hitters and tips. That attention to detail supports her ability to stay balanced, make clean contacts, and maintain consistency in serve receive and transition.

Her decision to attend this showcase reflects a desire to challenge herself, learn from experienced coaches, and continue building her game through exposure and competition.
