She finished the game against the Southern Illinois Wave 17s Black team with a cut shot from the left side to the right line. Russell said she’s been using her footwork to add more versatility to her game. Russell has developed a sizzling jump serve. She also had some key blocks in that game. Russell recorded 26 kills to help the Club Apex 17 Black team go 4-0 in 17 Girls Pool D action.
