Izabelle is a six foot right side hitter who plays at Emerson High School and competes for MadFrog Volleyball Club. With her lengthy reach, Buchholz is a legitimate offensive weapon on the opposite. She presents a difficult matchup because she contacts the ball high and extends well over the net. What truly separates her is the speed of her footwork in transition from block to attack. When a right side can get off the net quickly and establish spacing early, it expands the setter’s options and relieves pressure from the left side attacker. That is exactly the value she brings to her club team. She becomes even more dangerous when utilized in the middle of the net on play sets and second tempo routes. From that angle, her reach is extremely difficult to defend, especially for smaller or slower middles trying to close the block. Her arm swing is lightning quick, forcing blockers to establish position early if they hope to slow her down. If they are late, she will beat them to contact and score cleanly. Buchholz has the length, speed, and offensive upside that translate well to the collegiate level. Any program looking for a long pin with pop and transition quickness should take notice. Buchholz and her Dallas Skyline 16 Royal – Jimmy teammates will get to compete in the 16 Open division in Florida. She’s an excellent blocker, who does a great job of reading opposing pin hitters and shutting them down with her aggressive play above the net. The right side hitter is also very productive offensively, getting off the floor well and swinging with power and precision to beat blockers and defenders. Buchholz is extremely versatile and well-rounded, being capable of playing in the middle or the left and also of contributing significantly when playing defense.
