Keaveny was so steady from the service line and sustained a pivotal service run for the Crusaders in set 2. She orchestrated a tempo with gap and inside sets but she also sustained service runs that put North Woods under sustained pressure through the match.

Izzy has been the backbone of Mayer Lutheran’s offense, averaging nearly six assists per set and showing impressive poise under pressure. She’s a smart, composed setter who leads with confidence and consistency, making strong decisions on and off the net. Her ability to read the defense and keep hitters in rhythm will be a crucial factor in this Section 4A matchup.

Keaveny has been an instrumental setter and right-side attacker for the Mayer Lutheran Crusaders, and has contributed significantly to a highly successful period for the program. She was a starter as a 9th grader in 2022, a year in which Mayer Lutheran finished in 2nd place in the MN State Volleyball Tournament. Keaveny helped guide the team back to the State Tournament in both her 10th and 11th grade seasons. Which ultimately culminated in the Crusaders winning the 2024 MN State Volleyball Championship. Keaveny ran the offense with 31 assists in the championship match. Individually, she has been named to the MNVBCA All-State Volleyball Team in both 2023 and 2024, and received All Conference Team honors in both years. She also earned herself a spot on the MN State VB All-Tournament Team in 2023 and 2024, and was selected for the 2024 MN Star Tribune All Minnesota Team. Keaveny has been a consistent leader for the Crusaders and she surpassed 1500 career assists by the end of her sophomore season.

Izzy Keaveny is so athletic.  She just celebrated scoring 1,000 points in basketball and is one of the top setters in her class for volleyball.  She will be competing for Northern Lights 17-1 this weekend in the 17 Open Division of NLQ.  She was named to the all tournament team for Mayer Lutheran who took home the Class A title. Izzy isn’t the only Keaveny on the squad, she is joined by her twin sister Clara Keaveny Clara Keaveny 5'10" | DS/L Mayer Lutheran | 2026 State MN who is a real athletic and gritty libero. 

Keaveny has turned herself into not only a distributor but also a weapon. I have loved being able to watch her game evolve over the past couple years. Coaches, if you are looking for a setter make sure Keaveny is on your list to watch.

Keaveny gets exceptional training not only with her club at Northern Lights but also with her high school program, Mayer Lutheran. She has the speed to chase down the out-of-system balls and she is strong enough to set the ball from anywhere to anywhere on the court. Need a faster tempo? Keaveny can do that too. I think Mayer Lutheran is one you can expect to see make another run for the X and Keaveny will be calling the shots.

Keaveny’s stock has been on a very steady rise since last year. Her athleticism and footwork to the ball and sped up, and her connection with Rayna Christianson Rayna Christianson 6'2" | S Lakeville North | 2026 State #96 Nation MN is absolute fire. Keaveny does a great job of exposing the opposing block if they arent’t paying attention or if they are cheating to one of the pins. This element of her game has really exploded this winter. I love seeing how she is getting her middles involved and finding success.
