from this event in 2024 where she was a standout for SMV 17s. This year she”ll be one of the key point scorers for SMV 18-1 Black out of Rochester, Minnesota. This is the premier club out of Southeast Minnesota where they continue to produce college volleyball athletes who were multisport standouts in high school. LaPlante will be heading to Minnesota State Mankato where she will play volleyball as well as track and field. She will be one of the top all around athletes in the entire field this weekend.

LaPlante has added to her attacking tools and really gotten good at using the opposing block. She’s had a great season with Chatfield as a 6 rotation outside between her attacking, defense and solid serve receive. LaPlante will lead Chatfield to the X next week.

This was my first time seeing LaPlante play live and was so impressed. The six rotation outside hitter was effective in and out of system. She is extremely explosive with her approach where she just launches off the court. When it comes to her swing she can use the entire court with her swing.

LaPlante is lethal from anywhere on the court. She is quick and I love her high snap for the deep cross corner shot. LaPlante is so crafty and smart with her shot selection, you just never know what she is going to do next.

LaPlante is an effotless flyer that takes a really aggressive swing. She works hard and her explosive approach makes her a great fit on the pin. LaPlante will take an aggressive swing at any tempo ball and she has a pretty wide attacking range. Her versatility in shots also make her fun to watch.

LaPlante resides in Chatfield where the population is just shy of 3,000 and the city is split between two counties. It’s located in the southeast corner of Olmstead county while also in the northwest corner of Fillmore county in the south east corner of the state. Which makes sense why she plays club for SMV. Chatfield HS has an enrollment of 297 students that apparently have to deal with the only stoplight in the county. Which county though, I’m not quite sure!

I was debating on where I should place LaPlante positionally because I think I’ve seen her play just about everything. She attacks from anywhere in the front row and she is sound in serve receive. Defenisively she’s got it figured out and I think I’ve even seen her setting for her high school team. She’s one of those swiss army knife players.
