Pieper is a unique volleyball prospect. I saw her playing six-rotation outside hitter earlier in the season. When I caught Rockets 14R at USAV Nationals, the incoming Holy Trinity Catholic freshman was setting. She looked natural at the position just as she had in playing at the pin. Bottom line is that Pieper is a good all around player and her versatility is valuable. It tracks with what is being taught in the Rockets program and what has led to a lot of success in Fort Madison. For Pieper, it allows for develop at multiple positions in search of the one that fits her best. Advanced skills and keen court awareness give her a chance to reach a considerable ceiling in the sport.

I’ve had a chance to watch Rockets 14R compete throughout this club campaign. Every time I see it, Pieper is making plays. Working as a six-rotation outside hitter, she does her best work from the pin, getting excellent elevation in the vertical leap, flashing hang time in the air and delivering a technically-sound attack geared to ending points. The aforementioned athleticism allows Pieper to stand out throughout the rotation. Lateral quickness, sharp reflexes and a good feel for match flow allow her to cover a lot of court in the back row. Pieper reads the ball well on the attack and on serve-receive. Her block also is effective. Pieper’s well-rounded skill set feeds right into the talented pipeline at Holy Trinity, where she scheduled to be a freshman in the fall.

We finally have a chance to get Iowa Rockets in the mix. Pieper represented Iowa Rockets ‘ top 14s squad this spring and brings a wealth of exceptional traits to the left-side hitter spot. She exhibited a quick, fluid approach at Saturday’s showcase, allowing her to sky over blocks during six-on-six drills. We also saw Pieper thrive in early drills that tested endurance, hustle, and body control. We’re watching a future leader for Holy Trinity High.
