Kennedi often gets overlooked in the Blue Ridge offense. Brielle Wolf Brielle Wolf 5'10" | OH/MB Musselman | 2029 State VA and Avery Curtis Avery Curtis 5'10" | MB Sherando | 2029 State VA bring most of the attention with their offense. However Kennedi should not be overlooked. Even at 5’8″ she can hammer the ball, relying on her beach IQ to generate many flavors of shots.

Next year at James Wood will be a big year for her. The Colonels will require replacements for Kennedy Spaid and Brenna Corbin at left side who led the team for four years and four championships. Kennedi saw some time at middle and right side. She might be one of the ideal replacements for the left side.

At the end of the month Kennedi will be competing in the Junior National Beach championships in Hermosa Beach, California.

In the first set of the finals in the Chesapeake Regional bid Kennedi kept finding the block put up by Paramount . Kennedi lists 5’8″ while the two blockers list over 6 foot. Paramount won the first set 25-15.

It did not appear she let that phase her for the next two sets. She took a different approach hitting the ball higher spraying the balls off the block while also finding the gaps. Blue Ridge took the next two sets 25-21, 15-13. In the last set it was her hit off the block that scored the final point to win the championship.

Last year Kennedi Bower Kennedi Bower 5'8" | OH/MB James Wood | 2029 State VA made the James Wood varsity team as a frosh. With Kennedy Spaid Kennedy Spaid 5'11" | OH James Wood | 2026 State #156 Nation VA and Brenna Corbin Brenna Corbin 5'5" | DS/L James Wood | 2026 State #169 Nation VA the primary left sides she still received enough playing time to finish fifth on the team in kills.

For James Wood there is a new Kennedi in town, only she spells her name a little differently to add to her own style of play.
