Kyla is one of the highest rated middles in Iowa, but the funny thing is she didn’t even stand out to me for that at first, that came later. What jumped out at me was in warm ups, while serving she had a serve that was consistently slicing down and away towards the left corner. It got me thinking, what’s the next evolution in VB? What’s the next evolution in serving? The float is so tough to play, it’s probably the most prevalent in the game. Top spin is tough to master, but has so much sharp movement, it’s nasty. This though reminded me of ping pong, where they spin the ball and it just barely catches the corner of the table. Moving away from the lib, and handcuffing any DS in that corner, it would be incredibly tough to play if it was done intentionally. I hope that she keeps working at it and masters how she was doing it, because she could literally change the game with it. And that’s not to speak of her fantastic ability at middle. Strong, adjusts well in the air on offense and defense, this kid is trouble for other teams.

Iowa Select 17 Mizuno’s championship-winning lineup isn’t complete without this D1-bound middle blocker. Ramler is an electric terminator in the middle and has made her mark on the prep side with Western Dubuque. She gets off the floor quickly, has a ton of range on the slide, and will hustle in transition to make herself available. Illinois State has a good one coming from the Class of 2027.

I’ve scouted Ramler on the club circuit and in school ball for the last few seasons. She’s steadily made progress in all aspects of her game, including adding versatility at the net. A middle hitter by trade, Ramler showed during the past club campaign that she could be effective at the opposite pin. That made sense when considering she’s athletic and agile in the middle. Ramler continues sharpening her skills, becoming a more consistent hitter and executing the block better. Ramler’s 229 kills ranked in the Top 20 among all players in the state heading into to first week of October. A .394 hitting percentage highlighted her efficiency. She’d also recorded a team-best 28.0 blocks.

where they were able to connect with a quick side out from serve receive. I can see her having a big nationals where if Select can stay in system they will be tough to beat in Orlando.
