About Lana
Expert Analysis
Michelle Bamford | Prep Dig Scout
Frelix’s differentiator is adaptability. She processes block size, defensive positioning, and environmental variables in real time, adjusting rather than forcing predetermined swings.
Spatial adjustment at the pin reflects advanced offensive processing. She prioritizes effectiveness over repetition.
Intentional Growth
Her improvement plan targets defensive versatility, both front and back row. That signals a desire to expand contribution bandwidth rather than specialize narrowly.
Well-roundedness here is not aesthetic. It is structural.
Beyond the Film
Her reflection on emotional growth stands out. She acknowledges prior struggles with self-talk and identifies progress in composure and point-to-point reset. That level of self-awareness is significant.
Emotional regulation is developmental. The fact that she recognizes it and is actively refining it reflects maturity.

16 Roshambo, credits NTDP with giving her greater confidence in pressure situations. Competing alongside such a competitive and skilled group pushed her to trust her instincts and play boldly even in close matches. “I was able to stay calm, talk effectively, and make aggressive moves even when there was pressure,” she said. Going into her upcoming season, she is ready to bring that same mindset to her team by leading with energy, staying steady in big moments, and helping push the group to compete at the highest level.
The pillar of Mind had the greatest impact on Lana. “I learned how to stay focused, adapt quickly, and reset after mistakes,” she explained. “This pillar will help me stay confident and calm in high pressure moments this season.”
One athlete who stood out to her was Kenadi Sieg. “I admired how fearless she was on the court, whether it was digging a hard driven ball or volunteering for drills, she always demonstrated courage,” Lana said. “I hope to take her fearlessness and use it on the court in tough situations, but also for my everyday life.”
Coach Timmy Balice from Dayton also made a strong impression. “He always carried great energy. Even when players would be getting tired, he could always pump us up again,” she shared. “I hope to take some of his energy and fire and use it for myself and teammates.”

views her selection for the NTDP as a unique opportunity to grow both as a volleyball player and as a person. “I’m blessed to be in a position to train with some of the best coaches and players in the country,” she shares. “I want to use this experience to get the perspective of a National Team player, push myself to my limit, and soak up as much information as I can.”
One of the aspects Lana looks forward to the most is gaining new perspectives on the game she loves. “It is something really unique when you get to hear how other people see the game and the differences between perspectives,” she explains. “I am looking forward to playing with girls from all around the country and building relationships that I might not have made otherwise.” Her excitement stems from the opportunity to compete and connect with athletes who bring remarkable skill, talent, and work ethic to the court.
Representing California on a national stage is an accomplishment Lana once thought was unattainable. “During my first year of volleyball, my dad mentioned a program where you got the chance to train with the best athletes from around the country. At that time it seemed unachievable, so it’s amazing to think that next week I’ll be one of a few players from California to participate in the NTDP training session,” she reflects. The honor of representing her state inspires her confidence and solidifies her belief that she can achieve her goals. ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247
