Guilherme Torres | Prep Dig Scout
Despite not playing at her usual level, like most of the team, the versatile senior once again helped Ridge Point in a variety of ways. She started the match playing setter/right side and was doing a fine job there, but was moved back to her original outside hitter position in set four as the Panthers looked for more stability in their passing. The move worked out well as Battle delivered that and even scored the game-winning point in set four in a very tense moment of the match.

An outside hitter for several years, Battle stepped up to help Ridge Point in a setter/right side role this season and is doing a great job in the new position. She’s now even more involved in the game and that suits her diverse skill set extremely well as it allows her to keep the Panthers in a rhythm. Battle was efficient as usual offensively, using her tremendous vertical and vision to score points and also thrived with her playmaking. Besides making good decisions with her ball distribution and remaining consistent during the entire match, she also made some setting moves that one wouldn’t expect from a player who just transitioned to the position.

Battle is among HJV 17 Elite’s most technical and consistent players and that gives her an important role with the team. She has a huge responsibility in serve-receive, often splitting the court with libero

, and consistently delivers the ball in perfect conditions to her setter. Not the tallest hitter, Battle is a strong offensive player too because of her excellent athleticism, which allows her to jump high and remain on the air for a long period, and her high volleyball IQ, which helps her to find solutions to any situation.

and created the conditions for HJV’s offensive system flow all day long. Extremely technical and intelligent, Battle is very strong on the backcourt, but she also contributed at the net. Although not the tallest hitter, she’s an unbelievable jumper and an extremely productive offensive player, combining power, technical resources and a very high volleyball IQ.

In such a loaded roster, the 5’8″ Battle brings value by being able to do a lot of different things well and providing exactly what the team needs. Extremely athletic, she’s a handful at the net because of her leaping ability and the firepower she has on her right arm. But the best part of her game is probably on the backcourt as she’s a productive and talented defender, who’s often deployed as a defensive specialist. The versatile Battle can set as well if that’s what the team needs.

On a night in which most of Ridge Point’s star players had their ups and downs, Battle’s consistency was even more important and visible. She remained stable during the entire match, made some great digs, helped stabilize the team’s serve-receiving and made very few mistakes on offense. Battle played as many as four different positions during the match, including setter, and did well in each of them.
