How could we forget about Mitchell? The high-flying pin hitter had her fingerprints all over Amherst’s Class D1 championship triumph. Mitchell dramatically elevated her scoring averages as a junior, yielding 3.6 kills per set on a 0.249 clip. Best of all, Amherst’s offensive leader was at her best when the Broncos needed her most. In every round of the team’s stay in Lincoln, Mitchell compiled double-digit kill totals and was the team’s go-to in first-ball situations. That kind of clutch production is ready-made for the next level.

Mitchell did it all for Amherst en route to the Broncos’ Class D1 title triumph. She led the team in kills and hitting percentage while also establishing herself as a force in the back row. Her quick arm produced several highlight-worthy swings in Lincoln, but we also have to credit Mitchell’s development as a shutdown blocker. Tabbing six blocks in a single match is not an easy feat, particularly for someone playing on the pin. Mitchell reached that mark in the championship bout with Overton, elevating her greatness among Nebraska’s small-town 2027s.

Mitchell’s inclusion on this list is no surprise. She led Class D1 No. 1 Amherst with 3.5 kills per set this year, but she managed to rocket past that total in her 2025 tournament return. The high-flying pin hitter registered 18 kills during Amherst’s grueling four-set battle with Cross County. Mitchell’s entrance into the frontcourt was the Broncos’ cue to run points, and they did just enough to win Thursday’s duel.
