of Waukee High School. She will be heading to Kent State, a D1 school located in Kent, Ohio. She will be heading to the MAC which is always an exciting volleyball conference. Haley Eckerman is the head coach for the Flashes where she prepped at Waterloo East and was a national champion at Texas. Davis has always brought an athletic and physical style to the setter position where she can run the quick tempo, shoot it to the outside, or take it herself on the second contact.

The 17/18 Open podium is loaded with setter talent. Davis is another multi-position gem who can get the job done as a setter or a terminator. The Iowa Clash was a chance for Iowa PowerPlex 17U Mendoza to flex its versatility, adaptability, and ball-control strength in its home gym. Davis was a key cog in whichever lineup 17U Mendoza deployed and wasn’t afraid to force her middles while off the net. That penchant for bold plays will suit Davis and her team well after last weekend’s runner-up effort.

Davis has impressed me with her play since I first saw her a few club seasons ago. She’s also been solid as a rock running the show at Waukee for multiple campaigns. This season, she’s competing with PowerPlex after operating with Impact a year ago. There can be growing pains for setters when moving, but Davis is making it look like the transition has been seamless during his highlight videos. In a lot of ways, she performs like a natural at the position. That shows up in fluid movement around the court and consistency in setting up her teammates. Davis’ middle sets are sharp, leading to a lot of uncontested points. She sees the floor well, taking advantage of the donut when available. Athleticism and quickness help in defending the back row. She can end points with her swing and turn back the attack at the net.

preps for Waukee High School where she has been part of a strong program in Central Iowa. I was able to see her live multiple times last year during her 16s club season and she had strong command of her side of the net. She can hold the opposing middle to shoot it out to the pin. She brings plenty of athleticism as well. I know last year she played for Iowa Impact and this year her profile says Iowa PowerPlex. Either way, she’s definitely one to know for the next level.

As expected, Waukee is back in the championship hunt after breaking through to the state tournament last season with a youthful roster. Davis was a big piece of that equation and has continued producing as a junior this year. She’d piled up 475 assists through the Warriors’ first 22 matches of 2025. Highlighting her all-around ability at setter, she’d also contributed 107 digs, 47 kills and 16.0 blocks. Davis is one of the more cerebrally-sound players at her position in the state. She can carry out any task asked of her and learns from opponent tendencies, exposing them later in matches. Davis shows especially good timing and vision to end points into the donut.

Davis has been one of the most steady performers I’ve scouted this club season. She showed glimpses of that as a Waukee sophomore in 2024, but has lifted her game up another notch. Davis is super reliable for her consistency and by limiting mistakes. She boasts a high volleyball IQ, which is supported by strong court vision and a natural feel for the sport. Davis is a taller setter, which helps her swing and defend at the net. She exploits holes in the defense and holds up well in the back row. Davis will have a lot of weapons around her this next prep season, and she’s a key in making Waukee a title contender.
