About Lyla

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’d describe my gameplay as aware and communicative. I try to read the court so I can get in good position for blocks, and as a hitter I work closely with my setters so I’m ready for a strong attack.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m a positive and happy person with a strong mindset. I like encouraging my teammates and helping keep the energy up on the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m very involved in my church and youth group, and I enjoy taking part in different community service and volunteer programs.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed teamwork and leadership skills through volleyball and being active in my church and youth group. Community service has also helped me learn responsibility and how to help and support others.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My dad is a disabled first responder. He became permanently disabled on the job when I was 6.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college where I can continue improving my volleyball skills, compete at a higher level, and be part of a supportive team environment.
