With a family background that already plays high level volleyball, Lyla has turned her volleyball skill set into a commitment from Division 1 South Alabama. The USA commit has the entire package—-size, speed, skill, an ability to hit from anywhere and a presence that can be intimidating at times when she’s blocking. Put all of those traits together, and you have yourself an easy pickup for the fall of ‘28.

Able to play either pin at the next level, Lyla’s presence on PHP’s 16U squad is essential to their success at MEQ’s. Also from a volleycentric family (older sister plays at Purdue), Lyla understands the work ethic and relentlessness required to play grown woman ball, and already brings it with a pace and force that’s just not normal in her graduating class.

Lyla is a long OH who takes really good rips on the ball with lots of power on good sets. She gets up high when blocking on the left side – think armpit height – and is disciplined, seldom getting used by the right-side attacker. Tindall has a good toolbox for a player her age; she is able to hit a variety of shots including a solid tool shot off the right-side blocker’s outside hand that she used more than once. I really like how efficient she is, especially out of system, where she rarely made any hitting errors and still was able to get a strong swing with lots of pace. If Lyla can continue to work on transitioning hard and deep after playing defense in the front row, she will continue to be very efficient and will start to put even more balls away.
