Caya is the prototypical M2 in an offense that regularly sets the middle. She’s always working hard in transition, ready to attack on any kind of play, and is an easy target to set with long arms and a high attack touch. As a blocker, she closes well, defends from pin to pin with ease, and is a tough out when trying to challenge her.

Caya’s now on the PHP 17s squad, which is tearing up the Midwest in the 17s division. Capable of being a three-rotation attacker in any position, she thrives in the middle with her length, constant transition speed and a high attack point. Her blocking posture and discipline are more refined than her attack at this point, so it’s only a matter of time and training with Coach Ball before she REALLY takes over a match. Six-footers with skill are rare in Indiana. six-footers with skill IN THE MIDDLE are extremely rare, and you could do a lot worse than Caya in this class.

Now on PHP’s 17U squad, Caya is a quick and physical middle that does best with a setter understanding her quickness and the attack height which she prefers. Miss Nelson does well going OVER blocks with her super high attack touch, and is more of an M2 at this time because of that fact. It’s not often that you can find a complete package with a 6’+ middle in Indiana, so pouncing on recruiting this young lady should be at the top of any college’s list.

Caya is a next-level M2 in the making. With arms that are longer than a six-footer should have, she’s effective on sets away from and in front of the setter to maximize her length and height. Always available to attack because of her quick transition, Caya’s one of the rare “bigs” that actually PLAYS big. Solid and disciplined on the block and adding a high attack point on offense, Miss Nelson will be a nice addition for a school looking for an M2 of the future.
