Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
On the court, I love to try to be a leader and hustle. Because I am a libero, I chase after every ball, but I do my best to only dive in emergency situations. I love to play, so I always have fun and make sure my teammates are uplifted, as well. I would honestly consider myself to be a utility player, because I am scrappy but also strong, which allows me to both hit and play defense very well.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
A few years ago, I learned about extreme ownership and servant leadership through a course my club was offering. I try to implement these into my gameplay, because I've found that I have a healthier relationship with failure and being humble, especially if it means that other players are happy. When it comes to my personality, I am generally a happy person. I have many extracurriculars, also.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am in several clubs at school, such as FCA, Mu Alpha Theta (math society) and Student Council. Outside of school, I am in National Charity League (NCL) which is a mother-daughter volunteer organization. At the end of 8th grade, last year, I earned the "Top Jag Award" (jaguars being our mascot), which was given to only 2 people in the school. Last year I was also heavily involved in NJHS.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
In National Charity League,
we spend lots of time volunteering, especially with our moms. My favorite place to volunteer was Williamson County Advocacy Center. I made and distributed blankets, and could really see the impact that this small act made. This changed the way I look at small acts of kindness. I have been able to develop other skills, such as teamwork in the various sports I've played.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
In the summer of 2022, my house was struck by lightning and devastatingly burnt down. ended up at my grandparents until November before we found a rental. We didn't move back for 2 years. At the same time, my dad was laid off from his job, which means that many of my training opportunities were lost. So, I had to find many new ways to train, and now I am more grateful for every rep I get!
What type of college are you looking for?
My dream has always to play Divison 1 sports, though it originally started out as softball. Though, I don't think D2 and D3 schools are inferior by any means, and would be very open to them as well. My dream is to be a forensic pathologist or anesthesiologist, so I would love to attend a school with a high level pre med program.
