About Madelyn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play with fast aggression. I am able to move quickly around the court. I am able to read the ball quickly and set myself up for quick passes to my setter or hitters. I have a hard consistent serve. My mentality on defense is you will not serve a ball to me that I am not able to pass. I am loud on the court and in the locker room. I will be the first one to help pick up a teammate.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a good mix of type A and type B personalities. I am very competitive but also coachable. People tend to see me as cooperative, kind, responsible, sociable, honest, and open. I am a very driven person on and off the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in my school's FFA club. I also am a part of our yearbook club at the high school level. I am a 9 year member of my local 4-H club. I have received everything from blue ribbons to grand champion and even a honorable mention at the state level for my 4-H projects.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Playing on a different sport teams since the age of 6 I have developed great leadership skills. I tend to look at the team and see what my teammates need in the aspect of encouragement or modification of attitudes. I have also assisted in coaching our local Special Olympic volleyball team.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking at any college that would help me pursue my dream of playing volleyball and achieving my scholastic dreams. This could be a small to medium sized school.
