Please officially welcome Makayla to the State Rankings. She is currently ranked as the 48th best overall player according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays for Jserra Catholic High School and also the Tstreet volleyball club program. Miss Zeigler is a phenomenal talent on the opposite side of the court. Her exploits this season have made a huge impact both on her team and in recruiting circles. I have no doubt that this phenom will continue to rise up the rankings in the coming years. She is long and extremely explosive off of the ground. Offensively, she can throttle the ball on either side of the setter and from the back row also. Armed with all of the tools that a coach would want in a true OH1, she will be a great pick up for any school who needs a terminator on the pins. Blessed with prototypical height and great frame for a volleyball player, she will continue to get stronger and enhance each skill. What I love about her ability when she is in the air making contact with the ball is how she uses her abs to get even more pop into the attack. Right at the contact point, you can see her throw her shoulders over and contract her abs, which provide a lot of force into the ball. She is definitely someone to watch.
