Lindsey was part of the Oak Ridge team that earned five wins and three losses. Tall and physical, the senior was very effective at the net, scoring at a good rate and contributing defensively with her big, well-balanced blocking. Lindsey demonstrated enough firepower to overcome the well-formed blocks that stood in her way, but was even better when hitting a quick set at the pin in which she showed great quickness to beat the opposing blocker. The outside hitter also had a big role in serve-receive, covering a large area of the court.

Marilyn Lindsey is easily one of the most underrated athletes in the 16 Bid division and someone every scout should have on their radar. Her game is marked by poise and quiet dominance — she consistently puts balls down from the 10-foot line with ease, then calmly resets for the next point like it’s just business as usual. Her aggressive yet disciplined approach to serve receive rounds out her all-around skill set, making her a reliable and impactful presence on the court.

Her serve receive is consistently strong, often producing clean 3-pass results that set her team up for success. Defensively, she’s disciplined and focused, always in position and ready to make the right read. Marilyn is one of the best outside hitters I’ve had the privilege of watching. She has such a reach and vertical that she easily swings over any block that’s put in front of her. She is also very smart when it comes to getting a kill. I love when an athlete knows she doesn’t need to swing at every ball. Marilyn exemplifies this perfectly. She completed her sophomore season and is going into her club season with 512 career kills under her belt. Marilyn is definitely going to be one of those stars that we talk about for a long time.
