About Marley

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My goal as a setter is to make my hitters look amazing. I work hard to understand the type of sets that each of my different hitters need.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m fun and easy to get along with. I love all sports and the outdoors and I’m always trying to find ways to connect with others.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m involved in VIP sports which is an organization that works with children with special needs. Every summer I volunteer as a buddy for them and it is the best time spent every year.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed good communication skills as I know that as a leader you have to communicate well. I also am aware of others around me and look for ways to help if someone is in need.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want a college that has a good academic foundation and a volleyball team that competes at a high level. I am a Christian and would also like a school with that background.

Marley McCandless Marley McCandless Marley McCandless 6'2" | S/RS Pleasant Grove | 2028 UT is one of the best setters in her class, not only because of her height but also her technical abilities. She has clean hands and footwork that keep her in rhythm, even when Marley is out of system.

Even though she is only a sophomore, this season she runs a 5-1 for one of the best 17’s teams in the state. With the offensive powerhouses Marley has, she is always aware of where they are and who she needs to set to give her team the best opportunity to score.

She consistently ran a balanced offense while recognizing and capitalizing on opportunities to insert herself as an attacker. Using her height to her advantage, she scored multiple points by going up strong and dumping with her right hand to the donut or into zone 2 with force.
