Pleasant Grove Team Profile

After a very successful 2025 season, the Pleasant Grove Vikings are once again making a case as one of 6A's top contenders. Following a first-place finish in their region and a third-place finish at the UHSAA 6A state tournament, the Vikings enter the 2026 season with a new look after graduating nine seniors. Despite the turnover, the Vikings return with the talent, versatility, and power to compete at the top of 6A once again.   The Vikings move to 6-1 overall after completing the sweep of the Bountiful Redhawks (25-13, 25-21, 26-24) in their third road match on Tuesday night.   I did not get a chance to watch everybody who played, but I look forward to featuring them when I do. Those players include junior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='957363' first='Addyson' last='Pace'], junior libero Bailey Smith, and junior middle blocker Charlee Daley.    Sophomore setter and recent BYU commit, [player_tooltip player_id='724783' first='Marley' last='McCandless'], returns to run the offense for the Vikings again this season. In last night's preseason matchup against the Bountiful Redhawks, she capitalized on mismatches, utilized her middles, and kept the tempo consistent to her pins.     Leading the floor as Pleasant Grove's lone senior, outside hitter, and UVU commit [player_tooltip player_id='897144' first='Lexi' last='Brown'] continues to provide experience and firepower for the Vikings. She posted 14 kills on the night, helping her team complete the sweep.   One of the biggest takeaways from Lexi this season has been the added power behind her swing. She consistently made confident, high-IQ decisions, using smart shots to tool the block high and send the ball long or attack the seams and bury the ball in the middle of the floor.     [player_tooltip player_id='957362' first='Gabby' last='Moffitt'] opened the match with two strong kills, down the line and into the sharp angle with conviction. She created strong attacking opportunities by getting her feet to the ball and maintaining solid timing, both in and out of system. Her ability to stay balanced and aggressive allowed her to put pressure on Bountiful's defense throughout the match.     [player_tooltip player_id='930258' first='Adriana' last='Warren'] steps in to play as one of the middle blockers for the Vikings while going all the way around this season. In last night's match, Adriana showcased her versatility and power in the middle after recording 6 kills and hitting a .667.   She did a great job transitioning, making herself available, and keeping her timing consistent. [player_tooltip player_id='724783' first='Marley' last='McCandless'] keeps her on a 1 1/2-2 ball to give her time to get on top and find her way around the block. She saw the block well in front of her and attacked the cut back and into the angle with confidence.     [player_tooltip player_id='896268' first='Dixie' last='Werner'] enters the varsity lineup playing as DS for the Vikings this year. Even though she is a setter, Dixie showcased her ability to be a solid passer. She moved her feet early and kept the ball over her hip consistently with early angles. Behind the line, her strong float serve kept the Redhawks out of system and often helped the Vikings convert her serves into points.
