Expert Analysis
Austin Kingsley | Prep Dig Scout
Dalton somehow made seven kills per set look like an ordinary feat. The North Dakota-bound outside hitter finished just shy of 2,000 career kills with Fremont and helped turn the Tigers into perennial postseason contenders. We are most impressed with how much Dalton progressed as a backcourt asset throughout her prep career, turning her into a true six-rotation asset on the Class A scene. Those skills will translate well to Division I competition.

She’s picking up where she left off last year. Dalton delivered a rousing performance in Fremont’s season opener against Columbus, but that’s typical for the North Dakota commit. The Tigers looked to their star outside hitter for 26 kills on a monstrous 0.449 clip against the Discoverers. This was accompanied by several successful service runs, and Dalton’s scoring never wanes in the back row, either.

This is the least surprising member of this list. Dalton is undoubtedly the leading terminator for Fremont, and her incredible range was on display throughout the invite. The Tigers drew up some clever combination plays and crossing patterns last weekend, and most of them were designed to let Dalton operate. She remained a major factor in the backcourt, too, contributing to Dalton’s head-spinning kill numbers in early-season action.

No surprises here. Fremont still has its leader on the outside, and Dalton’s stats are as good as ever. 5.4 kills per set with a hitting efficiency over 0.300 is an extraordinary achievement, but these numbers have defined most of Dalton’s prep career. The Tigers can go a long way with Dalton setting the tone.

No Class A hitter averaged more kills per set last year than Dalton. Fremont leaned on their Class of 2025 pin hitter for five-and-a-half kills per set, and half of Dalton’s high school career is still in front of her.

Dalton gets a shoutout here for her expanding toolbox of skills at the left-side hitter position. We’ve long known about Dalton’s ability to terminate with heavy heat in the frontcourt. But this Fremont product has also mixed in some impressive work in the backcourt lately, from her rock-solid floor defense to her assertive pipe attacks in the middle-back area. Dalton’s expanding repertoire has been something to behold as Nebraska ONE 16 Synergy climbs into the championship conversation in 16 Open.

Dalton just keeps climbing. It’s fair to say that Dalton has garnered stock-riser status since last year’s fall season with Fremont. Few outside hitters in the state terminated like she did, and that came immediately after a successful club campaign with Nebraska Elite. But Dalton is now thriving in new colors this year, jumping into a Nebraska ONE 16 Synergy lineup that has produced plenty of its own headlines. The new venue has certainly not slowed Dalton’s ascent, and her team is poised for another big year on the national stage.
