About Maya

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my volleyball game style as versatile and athletic, with a strong drive to improve every day. I adapt to different roles on the court, use my athleticism to stay competitive, and focus on learning and growing with each game and practice.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I play the game with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. I get excited for my teammates when they make a great play and do my best to keep them positive when things aren’t going well. I focus on being a better teammate everyday and serving in whatever role my coaches want me to play in order to help the team.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Skycrest Christian Character Award 2025, Skycrest Christian Female athlete of the year 2025, and volunteer at summer youth camps and food pantry.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

As a volleyball player I’ve acquired many skills to use in my everyday life. I’ve improved my communication skills, being a good teammate, my time management and discipline. I’ve also learned to adapt to new situations and improve my mental toughness.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Being fairly new to volleyball and making the 1’s national team at OTVA has been a challenge the last few years. There is a big time commitment to play at a high level and also physically demanding on my body.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a four year college in the Southeast. I hope to major in nursing and earn a volleyball scholarship. I hope to attend a college where I can make an impact on and off the court.
