About Claire

What's your biggest strength as a player, and how does it show up in games?

My biggest strength is my ability to stay composed and compete through every point. As a libero, I take pride in reading the court, being consistent in serve receive, and pursuing every ball. I also communicate constantly and try to bring steady energy to my teammates, especially in pressure situations.

What are you working to improve right now?

I’m always working to become a more complete libero. Right now, I’m focused on making my serve receive even more consistent against different types of servers, improving my range and efficiency on defense, and becoming stronger at out-of-system setting. I also spend time studying the game so I can anticipate plays earlier and make better decisions.

What are you looking for in a college program?

I’m looking for a competitive volleyball program at a strong academic school where I can challenge myself both on and off the court. Team culture is really important to me. I want to play for coaches who develop their players and be surrounded by teammates who work hard, compete for each other, and genuinely enjoy being together. I’m looking for a place where I can continue to grow and contribute

Outside of your sport, what should coaches know about you?

I’m a strong student taking AP and Honors classes, and I enjoy challenging myself outside of volleyball. I love art and am working toward a Fine Arts Distinction at my high school. I also volunteer with Teen Court in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit and at youth volleyball camps. I love traveling and spending time with my friends and family, and I think being involved in different things helps me b

What do you want to study, and what career interests you?

I’m still exploring exactly what I want to study in college, which is one reason academics are important to me. I’m interested in graphic arts, journalism, and design, and I want a college where I’ll have the opportunity to explore different subjects and find the path that is the best fit for me.
