About McKenzie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’d say my gameplay style is aggressive, but smart. I’m always hustling, reading the court, and trying to be one step ahead. I like to bring energy, lead, support my team, and be smart in tough situations.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m competitive, focused, and always trying to improve. I don’t like to lose, but I learn from it. I stay positive, hype up my teammates, and keep a strong mindset even when things get tough.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes, I’ve been involved in a few school clubs and have helped out with some volunteer work. I’m also a member of Girl Scouts, which has given me a lot of leadership and service experience. I’ve received awards for good grades and citizenship, like making the Honor Roll and being recognized for helping others. One award I’m especially proud of is the "I’m Third" award I received at KAA summer camp.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve definitely grown in leadership and teamwork. Playing volleyball taught me how to communicate better, stay calm under pressure, and support others even when things aren’t going our way. I’ve also learned responsibility through school and volunteering, and I try to be someone people can count on in hard times.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, I had a bad ankle injury that kept me off the court for a while. It was tough physically and mentally because I love playing and hate sitting out. It really taught me patience, how to push through setbacks, and to appreciate the game even more. I worked hard in rehab and came back stronger and more focused.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that feels like home—somewhere with a strong volleyball program, good academics, and a supportive environment. I want a place where I can grow as a volleyball player and learn academics as well.
